Today, with PikiP Custom, we are taking a new step forward: supporting stage design offices, technical directors, and engineering teams in the development of fully bespoke solutions.

PikiP Custom: tailored energy for demanding projects

Our range of smart energy stations (SE3000, SE5000, SE10000) and solar production systems (PV800, FLYPV1700) already covers a large share of the industry’s needs.

However, in stage and touring projects, some requirements fall outside any standard: specific mechanical integration, space constraints, variable load power, dedicated protections, live performance standards, monitoring, dismantling, reuse…

This is exactly where PikiP Custom comes in: a personalized offering, designed around specific needs and challenges. Our R&D team handles the entire process (preliminary studies, CAD/CAM design, prototyping, manufacturing, coordination with partners, as well as testing and certification) to ensure performance, durability, and excellence.

Case study: Le Roi Soleil tour (Teamagine / Alabama)

An integrated energy solution for 6 mobile LED towers

The Le Roi Soleil project was designed around six motorized towers, each over 8 meters high and carrying nearly 25 m² of LED screens. These structures move across the stage alongside the performers and require a critical element: stable, silent, and safe onboard power, fully compatible with the constraints of live performance.

Following a meeting with the Novelty teams, the stage design office Teamagine contacted us to design and manufacture a power storage and distribution solution matching the technical specifications... under one decisive constraint: a one-month delivery deadline.

Technical specifications: on-site constraints and high expectations

For each tower, the solution had to meet precise criteria:

— 32A per tower
— 10,000 Wh of storage per tower
— Recharge in under 2 hours, with adjustable charging power
— Full integration into the base, with limited accessibility
— Electrical protections adapted to LED screens, compliant with live performance standards
— Mobility constraint: grounding impossible
— Remote monitoring with real-time visualization of each tower’s status
— A dismantlable solution at the end of the tour, allowing reconditioning into flycases and reuse on future projects

Development: a customized SE10000 integration

Custom mechanical integration

The mechanical design was developed in close collaboration with the manufacturer of the metal towers. “Millimeter-accurate” integration made it possible to precisely define:

— Mounting systems and anti-vibration components (silent blocks)
— Ventilation
— Internal power distribution and wiring harnesses

Electrical architecture derived from the SE10000

The solution is based on our SE10000 station, fully adapted to the project’s constraints. We integrated our latest innovations, including:

— A TN-S earthing system, allowing operation without grounding
— Adjustable charging from 3 to 32A
— An optimized mains switchover enabling recharging without interruption of AC power

Electrical protections were specifically calibrated for LED screens (adapted trip curves, dedicated RCDs).

Production: an industrializable process despite a tight deadline

To meet the schedule, our workshop teams set up a dedicated production workflow:

— Upstream preparation of wiring harnesses and electrical panels
— Serial assembly and integration across all six units
— Software configuration of the embedded intelligence
— Quality testing and validation prior to shipment

Each tower received more than 200 kg of PikiP equipment, integrated directly into the base. The systems were then delivered to Épinay for the first assembly.

Results: robustness, reliability, and on-site diagnostics

The first assembly allowed immediate validation of performance and a real-world diagnostic scenario: at power-up, everything trips.

Initial suspicion fell on the sensitivity of the power station. Then the same test on mains power also tripped: the issue came from a faulty LED screen.

The PikiP system itself was fully operational: clear proof of an architecture designed to handle real-world conditions, not just theoretical ones.
